Extremely painful throat when swallowing help?

About a month ago i came down with an incredibly sore throat whenever i swallowed. I went to the doctor and thye put me on anti-biotics which cured it fairly fast, but as soon as I finished my course, then it came back. Got the doctors to have another look at it and she said it was glandular fever and that I should just take Ibuprofen and Paracetomol, but its still extemely painful. I am also really tired all the time and I had a massive headache today aswell, and today I felt as if I was going to pass out. I was wondering if there is anything else I can do to make it feel better as I am going to China in 2 weeks and dont want an illness to ruin my trip!
