TEETH ARE DRIVING MY CRAZY!!!?

well my tooth is like decaying im pretty sure, half gone, black...very painful! but my gums are whats hurting the most...their swollen and it feels like right above the bad tooth in the gum is a tooth or something...my gums is what makes my mouth hurt!! i went to the er cause it was unbareable...they gave me an antiboic and ibuprofen 800mg....which doesnt help much!!! does anyone know whats wrong with my mouth and what the dentist might do?????? plus im bout to run out of my prescribtion and i dont want to go to the er again cause the doctor is a dumbass! is their any over the conter meds that is strong that i could take for the pain!!! thanks sooo much
