Random Itching-Any ideas why?

About 5:30 this morning I woke up itching like crazy. I thought it was weird but eventually I fell back asleep. When I woke up again for 9:30 I was itching again. I thought maybe I got bitten or maybe I was just sweaty and needed a shower. The itching persisted and I took a shower and I'm still itching. I don't see any hives or bumps that could be a bug bite. The itching is at random spots too. It could be my knees, then go to my arms, then to my thighs. I don't think it could an allergic reaction to something since I didn't eat anything new yesterday. Although I did go someplace new. Could I have been allergic to something at the place yesterday and only feeling it now. Could I still have been bitten even though I don't see my bumps. Also, anyone know what I can take to stop it. Will Ibuprofen help at all?
