Have you ever typed an essay or story on an antique typewriter? Would you ever do it if you haven't?

I'm 15 and considering buying a 1937 Royal Portable Standard Vintage Typewriter. I think it would be an amazing experience to type on an antique typewriter like Tennessee Williams and Ernest Hemingway did. I can't stand staring at a glaring computer screen and I my fingers are sore after I've written more than two pages on paper, so I think a typewriter would be perfect for me. It's summer, I don't have anything to do besides read and write poetry and literature, so why not make it more fun? Though I do run the risk of wasting a hard-earned one hundred dollars for a broken machine that I end up never using.
