Has been having a headache for almost a week.....?

at first i thought that the reason i was having headaches was because i got my period, which i got on Saturday. today being Wednesday I've had it for four days and it should be going away in a day or two. on the second day (Sunday) i woke up with a really bad headache and i thought that maybe i had just slept on my head funny which causes me to have small headaches sometimes so i stayed off the computer and away from the tv and i took ibuprofen and it went away and then a couple hours later it came back and its been an on and off headache for four days straight and this never happens to me. I've been getting the right number of hours for sleep and i don't stay on the computer much and i hardly ever watch tv. can anybody explain this to me? is it from my period or something else? its a huge pain in the *** and i feel horrible. I've been taking ibuprofen twice everyday is that safe? what else can i do?
