Help with Knee Problem?
Sarah, this sounds as if it is an injury to the medial, inside, meniscus. What I would suggest that you do is strengthen the entire leg with an emphasis on the knee. The reason for this is that the stronger that your leg becomes the less stress is given to the knee. This should help to stabilize things in the knee and allow you to continue with your normal activities. I would suggest that you avoid running and jumping activities as these are very hard on the meniscus and could cause you further damage. You can also do water activities as these will strengthen the legs. Riding a bike is also another way to strengthen the knee without much punishment. Just remember that you have to use the correct gearing to avoid stressing the knee.
