Netherland dwarf/dutch mix or standard rex?

I love Netherland Dwarfs! They are very soft and stay small. I used to have a Mini Rex, which had the "velveteen" coat, and they also are small. But the Standard Rex is a larger rabbit, although it also has the soft velvet fur. Smaller rabbits tend to be more feisty, whereas larger rabbits are more docile and calm. It might be better to have a calmer rabbit for the kids, since the skittish ones might "freak out" and hurt themselves when the kids try to play with them.
